Summary: (CIT): The purpose of this conference is to fill critical scientific gaps needed to discover strong candidate biomarkers and endpoints for pain indications that will withstand rigorous validation and ultimately provide the tools necessary for the development of non-opioid therapeutics for the treatment of pain conditions. This conference will highlight approaches, tools, and lessons learned that may apply across health conditions and opportunities to advance the development of biomarkers for pain indications. It will also bring together leading experts across academia, the biopharmaceutical industry, and the federal government working on biomarker identification and discovery to share and discuss progress, successes, challenges, gaps, and potential solutions going forward.
